Jeffrey Shaw Obituary
Surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, daughters, and sons-in-law, Jeffrey Alan Shaw passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025 after a brief illness.
A dedicated husband, loving father, proud grandfather, loyal brother, and faithful public servant, Jeff lived a life rich with meaning, humor, and deep affection. Jeffrey was the beloved husband of 56 years to his wife and best friend, Mary J. Shaw. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering love.
He was the proud and devoted father of three daughters and their husbands: Courtney and Louis Guerci, Stacey and Michael Dunlap, and Meagen and Ernest Grindle-each of whom held him in the highest esteem and deepest affection. He was "Grampy" to four Grandaughters: Nicolina Guerci, Emma Dunlap, Olivia Dunlap, Emerson Grindle, and one Grandson: Grayson Guerci. All of whom adored spending time with him, whether sharing a bowl of popcorn or driving up Mount Washington, making memories that will be cherished forever. Born to Herbert and Evelyn Shaw, Jeff made them proud in all that he accomplished throughout his life. He was a devoted brother to Linda (and John Skidmore), Cynthia (and David Leonardi), Kenneth (and Maura Shaw), and Ronald (and Susan Shaw), and a caring brother-in-law to Carol A. Walling, and Roy E. (and Carol Walling).
His family was his foundation and life, and he never hesitated to offer a helping hand or a perfectly timed joke that brought laughter to every room. Jeff proudly served in the United States Navy, which deeply shaped his character and commitment to service. He continued that dedication through a long and respected career with U.S. Customs.
Jeff found joy in his garden-planting flowers, watching birds at his bird feeders, and chasing away squirrels. Dining at local restaurants with an eye on the Keno board, a trip to the Mobil station for a scratch ticket or sitting on the porch enjoying the view is all that was needed to find happiness and fulfillment. Jeff was known for his calm presence, sharp wit, and kind heart. He lived with purpose and carried himself with dignity and humility. His presence touched everyone who knew him. He will be missed beyond words and remembered always-with gratitude, admiration, and deep love. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 1pm - 4pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH.
Though he no longer walks beside us, Jeff's love and strength remain with us, guiding us always. The mere thought of him will forever bring a smile to all who knew and loved him.
