Vincent Daddio Obituary

SEYMOUR: Vincent J. Daddio, Jr., age 88 of Seymour, beloved husband of Jean (Ryder) Daddio entered peaceful rest on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. Born in Derby on March 24, 1937, he was a son of the late Vincent, Sr. and Dorothy (Johnson) Daddio. The proud owner and proprietor of Daddio's Auto Parts and Daddio's Rt. 8 Containers, Vin was through and through a car enthusiast, especially antique cars. He loved his 1931 Auburn (that his parents went on their honeymoon in) and would drive it, along with other antique cars, in Seymour parades, often carrying veterans and dignitaries. Vin loved to tinker in his immaculate garage and was always fixing something and never got dirty! He owned and raced several cars that ran at the Danbury race arena, the most memorial being the purple #111 "Jackrabbit". One of his fondest memories was when he went to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Racing Experience. Vincent was a US Army veteran and was proud to serve his country. He loved community and served on the Board of Police Commissioners and the Zoning Board of Appeals, and was a proud member of the Seymour Republican Party. Vin gave back to the Seymour community, helping families in need and giving to the local Police and Fire Departments. He was an honorary member of both Citizens' Engine of Seymour and Riverside Volunteer Fire of Oxford. He was also a member of the Seymour Lion's Club for 16 years. Above all, Vin was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his family. In addition to his wife Jean of 29 years, survivors include his children, Toni Bradley and her husband David of Oxford, Scott Daddio and his wife Sandy of Seymour, and Pam Kwoka and her husband Mike of Oxford; step-daughters, Nicole Austin and her husband Jon, and Jackie Clucus; siblings, Joseph Daddio, Elizabeth Daddio, and Carolyn Douglass; 12 grandchildren, Stephen Daddio (Rebecca), Staci Cahill (Brendan), Matt Bradley (Dana), Ann Marie Matto (Mark), Michael Kwoka (Haley), Shelby Kwoka, Sophie Sutliff, Lila Sutliff, Ryder Austin, and Hunter Komar; 5 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Vincent was predeceased by his first wife, Ann Marie (Salerno) Daddio. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. DIRECTLY in Seymour United Methodist Church, 90 Pearl St., Seymour, CT 06483. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit the family on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 4pm to 7pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483. In lieu of flowers, Vincent's family has asked that memorial donations in his name be made to the Seymour Lion's Club, 26 George St. Seymour, CT 06483, or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. I got to know the Daddio´s when my dad Jack Geary drove the 111. Vinnie was always kind to me and my brother Jack. My dad was very good friends for more than 60 years with Vinnie and will be missed greatly by him. God Bless Vinnie.
