Florence Anne Newman "Anne"

Florence "Anne" Newman, 90, of Dunkirk, MD, passed away on July 6, 2022. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Florence Weppner; and three brothers, Richard Weppner, David Weppner, and Daniel Weppner. Wife of 67 years to William M. Newman. She leaves behind eight children: Steve Newman (Donna), John Newman (Cathy), Jim Newman (Pam), Mark Newman, Vince Newman, Phillip Newman, Catherine Craig (John), Patricia Fleming; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Born in the suburbs of Chicago, and graduated from Abington High School in North Philadelphia, she then moved to Maryland where she raised her family in Lanham/Cheverly while employed at Woodward and Lothrop Department Store. She was a homemaker, enjoyed swimming, going to the beach, traveling, attending church, reading, bowling, and spending time with family.



The viewing will be held on Thursday, July 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736. Funeral services will be held the following day, Friday, July 15, at 11 a.m. at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1601 W Mount Harmony Road, Owings, MD 20736, with interment at Fort Lincoln Cemetery 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722.
