Bradley Marshall Obituary

Bradley Keller Marshall died peacefully in Arlington, VA on January 26, 2024 surrounded by his children. Born Horace "Spuddy" Marshall Jr. on July 29, 1954 to Horace and Dorothy Marshall in Bourbon County, Kentucky, he grew up in Carlisle, Kentucky.

At Morehead State University he earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Economics. He passed the CPA exam on his first attempt and soon was working as a CPA in Lexington, KY.

In 1991, he was hired to work on the Clinton campaign in Kentucky, and was then hired by the Democratic National Committee full time, working up to the position of CFO.

Following the DNC, he served as the CFO for important organizations such as: the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, American Bridge 21st Century, and Worldwide Benefit Services.

He was loyal to his sports teams: the Washington Commanders, the Nationals, and the Kentucky Wildcats; he was a follower of horse racing, especially the Triple Crown. His favorite band was the Rolling Stones and his favorite movie was Easy Rider.

Brad will be remembered as the life of the party, a friend with a heart of gold, incredibly generous, having a great belly laugh, being a great Bobo to his grandkids, and a man who once flew to Paris just for a sandwich.

Survived by: daughters Brooke Northrip (Shawn) of Arlington, VA, Bethany Garcia (Erik) of Blacksburg, VA, and grandchildren Fern, Lia, Koda, and Kadence; and by his sister, Ann Spalding (Steven) of Lexington, KY. Brad is also survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Luann Lee.

Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Brad was a dear dear friend for many decades, and I was happy to enjoy his always hearty laugh and sense of humor. Even through many challenging times in life, after years of being in and out of touch-- when we finally caught up...it was as if no time had passed... so sad he left us too soon. I always remember his love for his family. What a blessing, the grandchildren got to spend time to get to know him in their young lives. I always enjoyed receiving photos and videos of the little ones and to feel his great love and pride for his daughters... and, of course, his good ol' Maker's Mark... I wish we had had one more conversation... shared one more laugh... Rest in peace, my darling Brad... I will forever cherish our memories and your devotion... much love... Tiffaney

Brad was for many years "my" CFO. I was legally the DNC treasurer but really just a fundraiser and cheerleader. It was Brad who was the "rock" on the finance side of the DNC on whom we all relied. A total professional, a total gentleman - filled with warmth, good intentions, and good humor. I´m so sad that he´s gone.

Such heartbreaking news, Brad was a true friend and our great times in DC are some of my favorite memories! Palling around with Brad and Nina was the best, Inaugural Ball and White House receptions were as unforgettable as brunch in DuPont Circle! Rest n Peace dear Brad

I love this obituary - you truly captured the Brad I know. I worked with him at the DNC for 4 years, and we shared so much hard work and fun times. I remember standing in line with Brad for hours waiting to get into a delayed White House event, and we were overserved champagne and had the best time just talking and laughing. I will miss him.

I met Brad thru my cousin Nina Pineda. She brought Brad to my parents house in Pittsburgh for many holidays. The first time she brought Brad over, his hint of southern accent charmed everyone. Brad was instantly one of the family members who was also welcomed to our Filipino/American family. I´ll miss you buddy and I will always remember your huge smile and hearty laugh.
