James Richard Woytassek was born October 17, 1963 to Virgil and Ivadell (Berger) Woytassek, he grew up on the farm in rural Geneseo, ND. He attended and graduated from Lidgerwood High School in 1982. Jim graduated from Dakota Aero Tech in Fargo and received a degree in airframe and powerplant. He married Rhonda Krause and they moved to Mustang, OK where their son Wyn was born. Jim and Wyn moved to Chandler, AZ and then back to North Dakota. Jim was blesses with 3 additional children, Andrew, Tavin and Anessa. Jim farmed with his father, Virgil for a number of years and then continued farming with his son Andrew. He was very passionate about farming. Jim also worked for Hankinson Renewable Energy for the past 9 years.
Jim enjoyed watching Nascar, shooting pool and more recently golf. He was an advanced scuba diver with the SE Dive and Rescue Team. He enjoyed his time taking his son Wyn go kart racing and also enjoyed visiting with his many friends.
Mostly Jim was a proud, kind and loving father. His family was everything to him.
He is survived by his children, Wyn (Carly), Andrew (Nikki Berg), Tavin and Anessa, his 2 precious granddaughters, Ivadell and Leni, his mother Ivadell Woytassek, siblings, John (Diane), and Judy plus his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil Woytassek, his grandparents, a nephew and great niece.
Jim passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Lidgerwood, ND. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 10-11 followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Cayuga, ND. Burial will be at a later date at St. Martin's Cemetery, Geneseo, ND.
