Glenda Edwards Obituary

Glenda Edwards went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2024 at the age of 89. She was born at home in Ellis County, Texas on December 4, 1934. She attended Avalon High School and was Valedictorian and May Queen. She later attended Baylor where she married Ron Griffin and had two children Julie and Jeff.

After parting with Ron she met and married Giles Edwards. Together they partnered in several Waco enterprises. They built their home in China Spring.

Glenda had a deep faith in the Lord and often sang in the church choirs and taught Sunday School. She attended China Spring Methodist Church.

Glenda suffered the loss of her son Jeff to a lightning strike in 2003 and then the loss of her husband Giles a few years later. In 2014 she moved to Nashville to be closer to her daughter Julie.

Julie,
I have so many fond memories of Glenda, Jeff and Giles. They were one of the best influences of my youth. May our feather in heaven welcome Glenda home. As we all have read He has prepared a place for them. And I look forward to seeing them
again. Your brother in Christ.

I met Glenda in the late 70's when we both worked at Central National Bank. She was a delight to work with. Always a smile and we laughed a lot. A beautiful lady inside and out.
I also knew her when she and her husband owned the mattress company off Lake Air drive.
My condolences to her family.

Mama Dolly, you will be forever missed as are Jeff and Giles. What wonderful memories you allowed me to be a part of in sharing your journey. Jeff was a brother to me, and you knew that too. Enjoy your reward with so many there before us. We will see you again in the heavenlies....
