Ann Dana Obituary

Ann Denny Dana, 80, joined her late son, Mark, for a walk on the beach early in the morning on Father's Day. She is the daughter of Garvel C. and Kathryn Denny of Kannapolis, NC. Being a resident of James City County for twenty years, Ann "Granny" touched the heart and soul of everyone lucky enough to make her acquaintance. Her open arms embraced many human and animal souls and left them knowing that they were not walking home alone. Ann was an active supporter and participant in a number of horse and dog rescue and foster groups connecting many of those lost souls with loving homes where they could live out their days in peace. She was surrounded by family and leaves behind: daughter Kelly, husband John, along with Hannah, Josh, Lauren, Greg, Scott, and Todd; and Ann's son Gar, wife Lisa, along with Christopher, Johnathan, Nicholas, Juliana and Emma; and her granddaughter (Mark's daughter) Sydney, and children; Nash and Remi; and her nephew Raymond, wife Sally and daughter Morgan; and former husband and loving friend, Tom Dana. Arrangements are being handled by Bucktrout Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at her home on Saturday at noon. Contact family for information.
