Marjorie Atkins Obituary
Lorene was born in Saybrook, Illinois, the daughter of the late Charles and Mattie (Cannoy) Burke.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Alvin J. Atkins, with whom she shared 74 years of marriage.
Lorene's hobbies included her garden and she derived great joy in canning and preserving garden vegetables. Her specialties were grape jelly and pickled beets. These were enjoyed by her family and friends, for many years. Lorene enjoyed traveling to Oxford Casino in Maine, with her daughter, Diann and grandson, Austin where she had great fun playing the slot machines. One of her great pleasures in life was spending time in her log cabin vacation home on First Connecticut Lake in Pittsburg, NH with family and friends. She so loved sitting on the porch and listening to the loons.
In addition to her husband, Lorene is survived by her daughter, Diann (Mark) Gindlesperger of East Kingston, NH; two sons, Ronald Atkins of Barnstead, NH and James (Karen) Atkins of Barrington, NH; 4 grandchildren, Aaron (Amanda) Atkins and Austin Atkins and Arielle (Addison) Kim; Nicole (Adam) Atkins of Barrington, NH; 2 great- grandchildren, Jaxson and Whitney Atkins. She was predeceased by her twin Louise, and 3 sisters and 1 brother. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Lorene, will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
There are no calling hours. A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Sandown Center Cemetery at 11am. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
