Chad Bodnar Obituary
September 1, 1977 - July 18, 2022
Richland, Washington - Chad Alyn Bodnar a loving dad, son, grandson, brother, uncle, coach and mentor passed away suddenly on July 18, 2022. A PHS graduate he pursued his dreams playing soccer in college as well as professionally. He went onto share his love of soccer by coaching high school and collegiate soccer. He was also a coach for the Olympic Development Program. Chad was the Technical Director for Three Rivers Soccer Club for 19 years. He was the son of the late Robert Bodnar and is survived by his mother Karen Salazar. Chad is survived by the loves of his life; his twin daughters Jaxi and Brodi Bodnar; his three sisters Desiree (Mike) Diaz; Chandra (Joe) Gonzales; Bobbi Jo (Zachery) Eslick; his beautiful nieces and nephews, Christopher (Alissa), Joseph, Tessa, Wyatt, Olivia and Grace. Chad was preceded in death by his nephew Jerimyah. Chad will also be remembered by his extended family, dear friends, colleagues and the many athletes he was honored to coach. A memorial service will be held at Einans Sunset Funeral Home in Richland, WA on August 9th at 3:00pm.

Chad, I knew you as a tenacious, never quit, talented young soccer player on our Pasco Bulldogs high school soccer team from 93 to 96. You and Kyle V were exceptional leaders who made our team the best in the region. You were one of the most talented and competitive midfielders I ever coached. You always brought your best, and you had a brilliant tactical mind too, which shone in those years when you coached at Walla Walla and then at Eastern, setting many extraordinary coaching records. You will be deeply missed, always a Bulldog who set a fiercely ferocious example... and never quit anything. Your dad was your proudest fan. Love you always. Coach Séan

I had the privilege to photograph Chad Bodnar and his soccer athletes while he coached at WWCC. Taking hundreds of sports-action photos over a three-year period, I can honestly say I grew to admire 'Coach' as a man, a father, a mentor, and a leader. He will be missed in so many ways by so many individuals His impact on lives was not restricted to the soccer pitch. RIP Chad, we'll carry on in your memory, man.
