Anna Brown Obituary

Anna M. Brown, 101, of Tarentum, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Gibsonia. She was born May 19, 1920, in Harrison, to the late George and Barbara (Kolich) Stosic. Anna lived most of her life in Tarentum, where she was a homemaker. Before marriage she worked in the post office in New York. She also worked for the priests and nuns in Sacred Heart Church and was a librarian in St. Clement's Church. She was a member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum, and was a 1940 graduate of Har Brack High School. Anna enjoyed scrabble and solitaire, spending time with her friends and especially enjoyed her family. Anna was a strong believer in her Catholic faith and was known for always saying, Moly, Moly (Pray, Pray). Survivors include her children, Robert F. (Patricia) Brown, of Pittsburgh, John L. (Jenny) Brown, of Arizona, Hilda A. (Tim) Miller, of Virginia, Carl J. Brown, of New York, and Alice M. (Mark) Magoc, of Tarentum. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Brown; son, Mark W. Brown; grandson, Jason; and her siblings, Matthew Stosic and Barbara and Mary. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526.
