Gary Nolte Obituary

Retired Master Sgt. Gary Nolte

Gary Nolte died peacefully in Palm Bay, Florida, on January 8, 2025. He was born on June 28, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio. He joined the United States Army in 1973, and was Honorably Discharged in 1995. He proudly served his country. His proudest achievement was becoming Drill Seargent. He also received the Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Many Achievement Medals, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, and the Professional Development Ribbon.

Many of his friends will remember Gary for his love of cars. Gary is survived by his sisters, Judith (Ernest) Lippert and Janice Nolte; step-son, Michael Baker; and step-daughter, Emma Gargono. His parents, Irwin Ernest (Bud) Nolte and Eleanor Evelyn (Reinbolt) Nolte, preceded him.

Friends and family will be received at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

SSG Nolte was the best Drill Sergeant, Oct 1987- Dec 1987. That was my 2nd time in the Army, after being out for almost 12 years.
