April 21, 1942 – October 10-2023
KINGSPORT - Mary "Margaret" Hood, age 81, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023 with family by her side.
Margaret was born on April 21, 1942 and married her husband, Baxter Hood, on August 25, 1962. The couple resided in Colonial Heights for 54 years and loved their community.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Baxter, her sister, Betty Green, and brother, Gary Holt. She is also survived by her daughters, Sheila Miller (husband, Eric) and Yvelle Mull (husband, Jeff). She deeply loved her grandchildren: Andru Miller (wife, Stephanie), Jotham Miller (wife, Katie), Lorisa Morán (husband, Pedro), Garin Mull (wife, Jenny), Griffin Mull, and Mallory Anderson (husband, Brandon). She also adored her 4 great-grandchildren: Aubrey Miller, Lorelai Mull, Emilia Morán, and Luka Morán.
Margaret pursued many admirable careers throughout her life, but her favorite was the 20 years she devoted to caring for her grandchildren. She will be remembered through her delicious recipes, her collection of beautiful decor, and the stories her grandchildren will tell about the dedication of their beloved Mawmaw.
A memorial service will be held at Colonial Heights Christian Church on Sunday, Oct. 29th at 1:30PM. For those who would like to fellowship and share memories with the family, a reception will follow.

Sheila, I'm so sorry about your Mom. You were so blessed to have her...especially with the littles while you worked. I remember Eric saying his clothes were already clean & back in the closet that he'd worn the day before. I didn't make it Sunday...would have loved to see you. Call or text me if you want to talk. Love & sympathy, Kim Lyons 423-306-3869
