Nicholas Ambrose Obituary

SWOYERSVILLE — Nicholas M. Ambrose, 81, of Swoyersville, passed away at home on Monday, May 20, 2024, with family by his side.

Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Sadowski Ambrose and was a graduate of Larksville High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Army, earning the rank of staff sergeant and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal.

Nicholas was a truck driver, prior to retirement, for Acme Markets, and HCSC more recently. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Phillies fan and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Nick loved spending time with family and was a member of Holy Family Church, Luzerne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristen Januski; nephew, Christopher Bohonko; and niece, Lisa Wennemer.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Jean McCue Ambrose; children: Susan (Ed) Januski, Larksville; James Ambrose, Pringle; and Melissa (Michael) Pisaneschi, Shavertown; grandchildren: Sophia and Nicholas Pisaneschi; and Angela Ambrose; siblings: Mary Ann Wintersteen, Harveys Lake; Barbara Rinus, Quakertown; and Rose Bohonko, Plains Township. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
