Mildred "Moo" Gallagher, 84, of Mountain Top, passed away peacefully on Jan. 7, 2022 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart with family by her side.
As Moo would say, "Just passed third base and slid across home yelling, 'Oh what a ride!'"
Born Dec. 21, 1936 in Ashley, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mildred Doran. She attended St. Leo's High School and then pursued a nursing degree at the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Church in Dorrance. She was a wonderful person and full of life cherishing her time with family and friends. She was devoted to her family, adored all of her grandchildren and always instilled the importance of being there for one another. She had a great love for vacations but relaxing at the beach was her favorite, which she was able to do four months ago. She also had a love for gardening and spent many hours tending to her flowers.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her son, John Brian; a brother, Patrick Doran; and a sister, Daurine Siegel.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Bernard; sons, Edward, West Chester, Pa., Michael (Donna), Corning, N.Y., Martin (Barbara), Bunker Hill, WVa., Neal (Dina), East Stroudsburg, Pa.; daughter, Marce Readler (Kevin) Wapwallopen, Pa.; grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Morgan, Luke, Doran and Cecilia; step-grandchildren, Dillon, Brianna and Madison. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Dorrance. Interment will follow in the Memorial Shrine Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday morning from 8:30-10:30 at McCune Funeral Home, Mountain Top.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Council on Brain Injury (COBI), 16 Industrial Blvd., Suite 203, Paoli, PA 19301.
