Harold Turner Obituary

TURNER, Harold "Hal" Smith, passed away on June 24, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Hazel Turner; his sister, Norma Beckett; and his first wife, Valerie Turner. He is survived by his wife, Jean Short Turner; his children, Tracy Sinclair (Paul), Steven Turner (Ruth) and Lindsay Bibb (Jeff); 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a stepson, Andrew Pugh. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, and later at the White House as a Communication Specialist. He is known for his caring spirit and love of golf. He was a member of Discovery Methodist Church. There will be no services according to his wishes. Hal's family would like to thank the staff of Commonwealth Senior Living West End for his care. Memorial Donations may be made to Discovery United Methodist Church, 13000 Gayton Road, Richmond, Va. 23233 c/o Cathleen Smith.

Hal was truly one of the kindest people I´ve known. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Hal will surely be missed by many.
