Brian McCuin Obituary

WESTERLY - Brian H. McCuin, beloved husband for 50 years of Kathie (Terranova) McCuin, of Verdi Road, Westerly, passed away at the Westerly Hospital on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the age of 73.

Born in Brockton, Mass., he was the son of the late Vincent and Elizabeth McCuin.

Brian was the co-owner of Sorensen & McCuin Contractors for many years. A recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for his exemplary work in the community, he was heavily involved with local organizations and clubs. Brian was a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for Reevaluation, and a past member of the Westerly Zoning Board and the Comprehensive Advisory Committee. He was a member of both the RI and National Builders Associations, the Westerly Police Building Committee, a six-term member of the town council, a board member of the Ocean State Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Woodville-Pawcatuck Watershed Association. In addition, he was an associate member of the Athena Award Committee, a past president and longtime member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, and a member of the Westerly Lions Club.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Kathie, his son Michael V. McCuin and wife Nicole Stevens of Weston, MA; sister Paula Agins of Westerly; two grandchildren, Keegan and Everly; and several nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his brother Kevin McCuin; and sister Kathleen Galligan.

Family will receive relatives and friends at visiting hours on Wednesday, April 1, from 3pm - 6pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly.
