Lexington, South Carolina - Charles A. Brooks, Jr. died on July 5, 2022 at his home in Lexington, SC. "Charlie" was best known in his private life for his intense love of his family and the game of golf. He was an active member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church and was a man of integrity.
All services for Charlie, 95, will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with family receiving friends Friday, July 8 from 6:00 â€" 8:00 p.m. The service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, July 9 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Woodridge Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, and children, Gail (Bill) Swiggart of Nashville, TN, Charles III (Laina) Brooks of Knoxville, TN, Marie (Bill) Sawyer of Merritt Island, FL, Amy (Michael) Etchison of Orlando, FL and Lisa (Norman) Asmer of West Columbia, SC. Other survivors include his only brother, Oscar, of Springfield, MD; 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister, Alyce B. Cobleigh.

Mrs. Brooks, Please accept my condolence of peace, founded in Christianity, for you and your entire family. Your children , grandchildren and great grandchildren. My Sympathy extends to Charlie´s Brother , Oscar and especially to You Mrs. Brooks and to Lisa. My heart is in empathy for you two especially, and for all of your loving Christian family. Mrs. Brooks, Peace be with you and peace be unto Mr. Brooks spirit as he enters the fullness of God´s Holy Grace in Heaven. God´s promise to us for a life well lived in obedience to his will.
