Jean Rogers Obituary

Jean MacKinstry Rogers, 96, of Telford, died Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was the wife of the late Wallace DeWitt MacKinstry, who died in 1986, and the late William George Rogers, who died in 1991. Born October 21, 1927 in Fort Worth, TX, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Lenore (King) Zwald. Jean was a longtime member of St. John's UCC, Lansdale, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was employed as a bus driver with North Penn School District beginning in 1974, retiring in 2020 at the age of 93. Previously, she was employed with Rohm and Haas as a lab technician. She enjoyed gardening and all outdoor "critters," especially birds and bunnies. Survivors include her children, Judith L. Blackledge of Lansdale, Steven K. Haug (Peggy) of San Diego, Raine L. Fussner (Jeff) of Kempton, and Erren G. MacKinstry of Telford; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Jill Guest; son, Kier Sean MacKinstry; two grandsons, Kristoffer Guest and Paul Hagerty IV; her brother, David Zwald; and sister, Louise Konczal. Relatives and friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at St. John's UCC, 500 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446 followed by the Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
