Anne Cragg Obituary

McAllen - Anne Rikard Walker Cragg, 93, of McAllen, Texas, entered into eternal rest on February 21st, 2024.

Anne was born to Rick and Annie Laurie Rikard in Columbia, South Carolina. After Anne graduated from high school, she attended Southern Methodist University and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration and was an active member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

After graduation from Southern Methodist University, she started teaching high school Business classes, trailblazing the way as one of the first female business teachers.

Anne stopped teaching and had three children, Mark Walker, Diana Walker Stephens and David Walker. After raising her children, she went back to college at the University of Pan American and earned her Bachelors Degree in Accounting and obtained her CPA license working over 40 years as a CPA for Hart, Silva and Co.

Anne was an avid reader and loved her Wall Street Journal, playing tennis, working out, and attending the Valley Symphony Orchestra as a lover of the arts. She was a member of the United Federation of Dolls Clubs Inc., Zonta, on the Board of Directors at the Salvation Army who presented her with a Lifetime of Service award, and a travel club. She was an active member and lay reader for her parish, St. John's Episcopal Church. She loved life and she also loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Anne was predeceased by her parents, Rick and Annie Laurie Rikard. She is survived by her children Mark (Patia) Walker, Diana (Rob) Stephens, David (Katie) Walker, her grandchildren Laurie Hood, Audrey Stephens, Julia Harris, Margaret Stephens, Michael Walker, Madison Walker, Christopher Walker and Lauren Walker, and her great grandchildren, Emily Harris, Sevelle Hood, Adeline Hood, Claire Harris and Annie Laurie Hood.

A private family service will be held in Anne's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Oncology Research at MD Anderson Cancer Center or St. John's Episcopal Church, organizations Anne loved and felt strongly about.
