In Loving Memory of Inocencio "Chelin" Ortega
Inocencio "Chelin" Ortega passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 12:33 a.m. He was born on December 28, 1943, in McAllen, Texas, to Sixto Ortega and Magdalena Garza.
Inocencio lived a life marked by dedication, faith, and love for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with loved ones. He enjoyed fishing and bowling with family and friends and was a faithful member of Abundant Life Family Church in Aurora.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mt. Olive M.B. Church, 1710 Carey St., Joliet, IL. A celebration of life will be at 7 p.m., with Pastor Wendell Martin, officiating. Interment will be Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 10 am at Elmhurst Cemetery, 1212 E. Washington Street, Joliet, IL 60433.
