Dale W. Krohn, age 97, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at home with his family at his side.
Born Feb. 1, 1929, the son of William and Ella Krohn, Dale was raised in the Mokena, New Lenox area and graduated from Joliet Township High School Class of 1947. Dale was married for 75 years to Delores Minger of Frankfort. He is survived by his loving wife and three children, William (Paula) Krohn, Donald (Kathy) Krohn, and Diane (Larry) Leff, along with 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Dale worked as a mechanic in a local New Lenox garage for Otto Bormet and then as a machinist for Joliet Auto Supply, retiring after 21 years. He served as a volunteer fireman for the New Lenox Fire Department for 15 years. He was known as "Mr. Fixit."
Dale is also survived by his brother, Wade Krohn and brother-in-law, Marty Terlep and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene and Glen Krohn and sister Carol Terlep.
Family received friends for a memorial service at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL. 60423 on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the New Lenox FIRE Department or Frankfort Fire Department.
