Timothy Blacker Obituary

Secret Lake Avon - Born into a loving family July 31, 1953, Timothy Todd "Tim" Blacker came up under harsh conditions. The second of eight children, he was raised in Secret Lake, by F. David and Joyce (O'Neil) Blacker.
He was independent, smart, strong, creative and loyal. He had style like a breeze off cool ocean water and it came through in everything he did - saunter in wearing a yellow linen shirt, jeans, leather belt, and flat-hat, leave without saying goodbye. Like the rest of us, only human, Tim had faults. He knew them better than anyone. He did the best he could. His family was very important to him; one step into his home told you that. Pictures of his siblings and cousins on the mirror. His father at the Alamo, framed on the wall. Photos on the fridge. On the coffee table. Rich with memories. Generously shared. Love comforted him like a blanket. He never stopped smiling and found enjoyment in life till the end. Whether he was visiting with friends and family, having a bowl of ice cream, watching a race, or trying to start his boat to go fishing, he didn't let his hardships take away his joy or his sense of humor.
His final days were spent surrounded by family; he passed peacefully in the early morning hours of Dec. 30, 2023. Tim was predeceased by his mother and father; brothers, Christopher, Roderick and Sean Blacker; brothers-in-law, Tony Tomaszewski and John Jenkins; sister-in-law Wendy Blacker. He is survived by his children, Kelly (Dan) Pierce, Patrick (Sophia) Blacker and Evan (Hayly) Blacker; grandchildren, Orrin, Winona, Marlow and Daphne; brothers, Dave (Marybeth) and Jeff (Candice); sisters, Holly and Penny; as well as many nieces and nephews. His former wife, Bev, always held a special place in his heart. The family will be forever grateful to his loyal and patient friend, Jean; as well as the support of Bill W. and all of his friends.
Please join the family in celebrating Tim's life from 4 p.m. until the end Saturday, Jan. 13, at Palmers Provisions, 17 Pearl Street, Noank. Please bring pictures and your favorite memories of Tim. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Camp Wightman, 207 Coal Pit Hill Road, Griswold, CT 06351.

January 15, 2024

I just got the message about Tim passing away. My condolences to all of the Blacker family. I was a babysitter for Tim back in 1953. I had put aside an envelope with some pictures of him, including one at 15 days old the day he was Christened. I shall always remember the Blacker family they were a great part of my life when living in Secret Lake. May he rest in peace. Sylvia Kay Johnson.

Tim was always there when I needed him to fix something or needed something on the waterfront at Camp Wightman. He always had the wood splitter out for us and everything else we needed for work day. And he always greeted us with that great smile! So sorry we can't be at the Celebration of Life.

Tim was a classmate and a teammate on the Avon football team. A great guy and part of the "tough left side" of our defense. Rest in peace, Tim
