Richard Jenks Obituary
Richard R. Jenks and Mary E. McKown Jenks. Raised in New London, he graduated from the New London High School in 1967. He attended Porter and Chester Technical School for computer aided drafting tool design. Rick was also active in the Army National Guard for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Karen P. Jenks, married 46 years; his two sons and their wives, Brent and Jackie Jenks of South Windsor, Ty and Deana Jenks of Kernersville, N.C.; his three grandchildren, Brent Jr. and Zachary Jenks, and Piper Williamson. Rick is also survived by his sister Ann LaSalle and husband Charles LaSalle of Walpole, Mass. In addition, Rick is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Besides his love for his family and friends, Rick enjoyed car shows, cruise nights, the occasional stock car races and the drag strip races. With his methodical process and paying attention to detail, he enjoyed small wood working projects around the house. He lived and loved life. There was never a day without a smile on his face or hearing a classic Dad joke.

I was so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I was sooo looking forward to seeing him at our next NLHS high school reunion. Rick was such a kind and thoughtful person and I really appreciated his help getting the tables all set up at our last reunion. I'll miss seeing him at our next celebration.

I have many fond memories of Rick from his high school days in the 1960's. Quite simply, we lost another one of the good guys. My sincere condolences to his family. RIP Rick !

Rick was my best friend in high school. We had fun shooting together at the Quaker Hill Rod and Gun Club and for the NLHS rifle team. Also many hours cursing in my 57 Chevy. Prayers go out to his family.

Karen - Over the years, I have thought back to when Joe, Rick, the whole Engineering group and I worked at UNC. It is very understandable that Rick and Joe got along so well. Two guys with like minds. Just like a puzzle, we are missing some of the key pieces. I wish you and your family peace and fond memories. With compassion and love.
