Geraldine Mae "Jerry" Esposito, 87, of PO Box 66, Brockway, Pa., died Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Highland View Healthcare facility in Brockway.
Born on October 29, 1936, in Ridgway, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Cecilia (Gier) Johnson.
On July 23, 1955, she married John Esposito of Brockway. They celebrated 65 years of love, laughter and adventure prior to John's passing in 2020.
Jerry was a Catholic by faith and attended St. Tobias in Brockway. She was a lifetime member of the Rosary Society and acted as a greeter at church. During her lifetime, Jerry was involved in her community as a Girl Scout leader and member of the Brockway Progressive Women's Club, where she held several offices, including president. Jerry was employed at Fay's Christmas Village, where she loved decorating the trees and assisting customers. She also ran the Terrace Motel for 19 years. Her most important job, however, was that of mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was of the utmost importance to her and she loved the holidays, especially as everyone gathered with her and dad for festivities and fabulous food.
In her spare time, Jerry enjoyed playing cards and was considered an outstanding player by all who played with her. She also enjoyed reading, going to bingo and Salamanca, cooking and having breakfast with her group of morning friends. Anyone who knew her, knew that "breakfast was her favorite meal."
When people talk about the person Jerry was, they always say her smile was warm, her laughter was contagious, and she never had anything unkind to say about others. She truly was a warm, caring person in each of the roles she played throughout life.
Jerry is survived by five daughters: Cheryl (George) Tamburlin; Denise (Dee Dee) Carlini and partner (Steve Pinge); Michele (Mickey) (Chris) Rhed; Constance (Connie) (Jon) Martini, and Jacqueline (Jackie) (Rick) Anderson. Surviving are also eleven grandchildren: Lyndsey, Michael, Miranda, Amy, Kristi, Cassie, Caitlin, Brittany, Maria, Rachael, and Cody, and fourteen great grandchildren: Dominic, Ariana, Elijah, Lillie, Saje, Kayson, Kenley, Mackenzie, Jayla, Monroe, Ford, Myla, Wade and Wren. Numerous nieces and nephews, as well as brother-in-law Richard Esposito survive. Her beloved sister and best friend, Maxine (Joe) Piccirillo, also survives.
Jerry is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Patricia Young, infant brother, Gerald, brothers Clifford (Skip), Roy, and Francis (Frannie), nephew Matt Johnson, niece, Beverly Nottingham and son-in-law, Denny Carlini
