Shirley Frey Obituary

Shirley "Grammi" (Blouin) Frey, age 97, a native of Donaldsonville, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. She enjoyed cooking, watching John Wayne movies and playing bingo but most of all spending time with her family especially, her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Sherri Simpson (Johnny); son, Lou Frey (Jo Ann); four grandchildren, Jess Frey, Lane Frey (Allison), Johnny Lee "J.J." Simpson, and Sadie Vining (Dillan); four great-grandchildren, Michael Lane Frey, Nicholas Lane Frey, Anna Lane Frey, and Briggs Michael Vining, along with a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michel and Maude Loumiet Blouin; her husband, Louis Frey; sister, Joy B. Aucoin; four brothers, Mike J., Elray B., Carroll "C.J.", and Kearney A. "Zeke" Blouin; daughter-in-law, Debbie Frey. The family would like to give a special thanks to Tina Braud, niece Debi Coffman and the staff of Azalea Estates in Gonzales for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to ACHS or masses in her memory. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville. Entombment will follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery.
