Catherine Giambrone Obituary

Catherine Mary Giambrone, 78, a native and resident of Donaldsonville, passed away on July 16, 2021. She is survived by her 3 nephews, Joseph P. Matassa (Georgette), Philip L. Matassa Jr. (Leila), and Steven Matassa (Lisa); 2 great-nephews, Andy Matassa (Jamie) and Peter Matassa; 2 great-nieces, Alexandra Matassa Slaydon (Matt) and Alayna C. Matassa; 2 great-great-nephews, Grant and Dustin Matassa; and 2 great-great-nieces, Olivia and Allie Matassa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Giambrone and Lucy Sagona Giambrone; sister, Lucille Giambrone Matassa; brother-in-law, Philip L. Matassa Sr.; and great-nephew, Garret Matassa. Catherine was dedicated to her profession as an educator. She worked for the Assumption Parish School Board for 40 years. She loved to entertain her family and friends with lunch every Sunday, as well as birthday celebrations and holiday gatherings. The family would like to thank Chateau D'ville, Bridgeway Hospice, and OLOL Ascension Hospital. A memorial visitation will be held from 9am until 11am on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Ascension Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11am with interment to follow in the Ascension Catholic Cemetery.
