Brenda Chustz Obituary

Brenda Oubre Chustz, a lifelong resident of Morganza, LA, passed away at the age of 74 on September, 25, 2024. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a devout Catholic who loved and served God. She also loved planting and growing different types of flowers. Brenda was dearly loved by her family, friends, and community, and she was respected by all and will be dearly missed. Brenda is survived by her three children: Rhonda Chustz Laurent and her husband Alfred Michael Laurent, Jr. of New Roads; Gerylin Chustz Bowman and her husband Michael Joseph Bowman, Jr. of Lettsworth; and Brent David Chustz of Morganza; two foster sons: Harry and Robert Colley of Morganza; sister, Barbara Gayle Oubre Dawson of Morganza; two brothers: Morris James "Peck" Oubre of Lettsworth and John Kim Oubre of Morganza; three grandchildren: Avery and Maddison Laurent and Kylee Gueho, all of Morganza; and great-granddaughter, Willa Faye Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Chustz; parents, Morris Joseph and Lydia Marie Oubre; brother, Dana Paul Oubre; and her twin sister, Gwenda Mae Soileau. A visitation for Brenda will be held on Saturday, September 28, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganza at 9 am until mass at 10. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
