Darlene Maulin Obituary
Her greatest treasure by far was spending time with her family and friends. I also know that my mom's pride and joy has been watching her two grandsons grow up. Her love and admiration are immeasurable. And our love for each other as mother and daughter? Simply cannot be placed into words!
Darlene had a lifetime career as an accomplished hairdresser, at one time owning a successful salon in Skagit Valley. She retired from the beauty business but kept her creativity going by painting unique glassware, small furniture, pottery, and rocks (a member of Whidbey Island Rock Club). My mom and I had great fun with the rocks. She would paint them, and I took them on my hikes, hiding them across the beautiful P.N.W. It was exciting and rewarding when someone posted one of the rocks she painted on Facebook. Keep your eyes out on the trails!
Darlene is survived by her daughter Mindy (Mark) Wilcox, grandchildren Kyle and Jordan, her sisters: Donna (John) Hager, Diane (Michael) Newell, and Deedee (Dan) Nielsen.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 13th in Mt Vernon, WA. For service details, please email Mindy at [email protected].

I am saddened to hear of Darlene's passing. I remember her well from junior high and high school, we were friends and paled around together in our early teens. The last time I saw here was at our 50th class reunion. She was just as cute as ever, had hardly changed a bit... Please accept my sincere condolences to her family...I know you will miss her beyond measure.
