Barbara Walter Obituary

Barbara 'Barbi' Ann Walter
Died: June 23, 2022
It is with a heavy heart that we share that heaven gained an angel on Thursday, June 23, 2022, when Barbara "Barbi" Ann Walter, 54, left this world for her heavenly home.
What do you say about a girl named Barbi? The blonde hair, slim frame and that smile. She truly fit her name. If she were a Mattel Barbie, she would have been the "Warrior Barbie," the strongest spirit taking on all obstacles with her brave heart. She was the life of the party and had a zest and passion for life like no other. She was a deeply devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a caring and loyal friend to so many and was an inspiration to all who crossed paths with her. She led by example, never feeling sorry for herself for the hand she had been dealt, she was the strongest woman. Her smile was infectious and her laugh was contagious. Anyone that ever knew Barbi or was a part of her life was made to feel so loved by her. She made sure to tell her loved ones she loved them, and always hugged or kissed them on the cheek when parting ways. She never took life for granted, and she lived knowing there was no guarantees for a tomorrow. Barbi was an amazing role model and human being. She possessed the best qualities one could have. The world was a better place with her in it and she leaves behind a legacy of love and unyielding dedication to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Surviving are her husband and soulmate of 24 years, Kyle Walter of Sherman; children: Kerstin Moore of Riverton, Zachary Walter of Sherman and Molly Walter of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Dawson and Raelyn Moore, both of Riverton; mother-in-law, Marilyn Walter of Amboy; brothers-in-law: Kirk Walter of Amboy and Kent (Javier) Walter of Aberdeen, Scotland; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, James C. "JC' Petitt and father-in-law, Byron C. "Bys" Walter.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 500 S. Sherman Blvd, Sherman, IL 62684, with Pastor Matt Schneider officiating. Barbi did not want her family and friends to mourn her loss, but instead celebrate her zest for life. So please join the family for a celebration of life following the service at the Sherman Athletic Club, 300 S. 1st St., Sherman, IL 62684. A private family burial will take place in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Sherman. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL is assisting the family.
Family and friends are invited to light a candle or share a story in Barbi's honor at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com.

I came across this and am at a loss for words. Molly I know we haven´t been friends since elementary school and we barely talked throughout middle and high school, but I just wanted to let you know how truly sorry I am to hear about your loss. I don´t have any social media or I would be getting ahold of you on there.. but if you need ANYTHING and I mean that please reach out to me. 2174162611
