Timothy Kennedy Obituary

Timothy Michael Kennedy
August 13, 1956 - July 29, 2021
Morro Bay, California - Tim loved life deeply therefore fought a long, courageous battle against prostate cancer, passing away at home with his family. He remained positive and grateful even through the darkest of times, setting an amazing example for all who knew him. He was also admired by his medical team to whom we are grateful for their excellent care.
Tim was born to Charles and Millicent Kennedy and grew up in Whittier, CA where he attended catholic schools. He earned his degree at Cal Poly SLO, playing football which led him to the San Luis Rugby Club. As a player/coach, he cherished this time of his life. His other love was the Sierras where he lived for a time, enjoying life as an avid skier and backpacker.
Upon returning to SLO, Tim started a business in advertising, where he met his wife, Jan. Marrying in 1989, they were blessed with three amazing children: Gardner, Keary and Leila, raising them in a full life around the ocean and the mountains, for which Tim always counted his blessings.
Tim changed careers into construction materials sales, refusing to retire even as his health declined. Again, respected by so many for his professional kindness, many clients became very close friends. His other achievements were based around community service, coaching youth sports, announcing sporting events, running a local surf contest. As an avid member of AA, he sponsored many. He remained an outdoorsman throughout his life, golfing, surfing, skiing, hiking, savoring all aspects of nature.
Tim's devotion as a loving husband and father, was repaid towards the end of life when his three adult children moved home to care for him with their mom. This time together was a true gift to the family, an affirmation of the quality people he raised his children to be for which he claimed as his greatest achievement.
Tim is survived by his wife and their three children. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles, survived by his mother, Millicent and siblings, Chuck (Christine) Kennedy, Kevin (Barbara) Kennedy, Matt (Chris) Kennedy, Kathie (Greg) Kennedy, and Stephen (Sheryl) Kennedy. He is also survived by his many in-laws and a tribe of nieces/nephews who all adored their precious "Uncle Timmy".
Tim was taken too soon but lived a satisfying life full of gratitude and blessed with love which he gave in return to everyone he knew. His spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved him so dearly. Private services have been held. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Prostate Cancer Foundation at pcf.org.

I just heard about this. I tried contacting Tim a few times but no response. I was his nurse at UA. We had out prostatectomy a week apart. We also skied together at Mammoth. I tried to support his cause at the Surf events. So sorry that he lost the battle. May he not be suffering anymore.
