MIRIAM GROSSMAN Obituary

""Life has to end. Love doesn't…"" Mitch Album

Beloved and cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Miriam Siegel Hyman Grossman, passed away on June 1st, surrounded by her family.

Miriam was born in Dallas, Texas to louis and Lilly Siegel May 6, 1919. She attended the University of Texas for a short while before marrying her first love, Herbert ""Herbie"" Hyman in 1941. They were blessed with 36 years of marriage, during which they raised 3 children.

Miriam (affectionately known as Mimi) had many amazing interests and careers. She was an on-air television personality for several local businesses, real estate agent, and a chocolate chip company CEO. Her beloved Herbie, passed away in 1977. She married Burton E. Grossman in 1980 and enjoyed almost 20 years of marriage before his death in 1999. In both other marriages, Mimi had the great fortune to travel extensively and to see and savor many parts of the world.

Mimi was always an elegant, stylish, and fashionably dressed part of the San Antonio scene and was recognized everywhere for her beauty, her graciousness, and her love of people. She enjoyed socializing all her life and was rarely seen without a smile, a laugh, and a curious and inquisitive nature.

She was an avid reader, always eager to learn about new and modern trends. She bought her first computer when she was in her 90's and learned to email and facetime until her last days. She was blessed with a brilliant memory, a strong logical mind, and a wisdom that grew stronger with her age and experiences. And she relished in her ability to beat almost anyone at Rummikub!

Mimi is remembered by all for her gusto for life, her positive attitude, her sense of style, her love of parties, fun, and laughter, and her unique belief in herself and her abilities.

She is survived by her children: Joanie Schwartz and husband, Sol Schwartz, Marti Raba, Jack Hyman and husband, Tony Catka; as well as her grandchildren, Scott Alpard and wife, Jennifer, Lee Schwartz, and wife, Roberta, Laini Davis and husband, Randy; her great-grandchildren: Nick, Colby, Alexa and Paige Davis, Rena, Kayla and Alex Schwartz, Cade and Callye Alpard, and Andrew Phipps.

Pallbearers will be Lee Schwartz, Scott Alpard, Randy Davis, Nick Davis, Colby Davis, Cade Alpard, Alex Schwartz, and Andrew Phipps.
