Our loving Mother, Carol Ann Smith, 80, of San Antonio TX, passed away on February 21, 2025. She was born in San Antonio on January 7, 1945. Carol graduated from Highlands High School in 1963, and graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1968 with a BS in Education, where she also met her husband John Smith. She was an active parishioner of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, and was an active member of several social clubs including the Beethoven Damenchor, the Daughters of the Nile, and the Daughters of the King. She also worked at HEB for 18 years. She is preceded in her death by her husband John C. Smith, her parents William Augustus Douglas and Verna Elfriede Basse Douglas, her sister Verna Kay Douglas, and brother Eddie Douglas. She is survived by her daughter Marie E. Palos and her husband Mark Palos, by her son David K. Smith, and by her daughter Anna Lisa Weathers and her husband Travis Weathers, and her grandchildren Ian D. Palos, Isabella M. Palos, and James D.Weathers. She is also survived by her caregiver Thomas La Homme. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday March 1st at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, 1700 SE Military Drive San Antonio, Texas.
