Carol Ann and I were next-door neighbors. We were the same age and both attended Highlands High School at the same time. She was gracious and unpretentious. I don't think she ever realized how beautiful she was. It was an honor to be her friend.

Carol Ann and her family were my next-door neighbors on Greer St. We were at Highlands High School together. She was very quiet but charming.

I was Carol's Caregiver for the past 8 years. Spending time with her, I noticed she still retained her creativity even with her Dementia. One time when she was eating her lunch while I did the dishes, she made up a little story: "They just wanted everybody to be happy. And then he smiled." When I heard her say that, my heart smiled. Such a sweet, sweet, kind woman.

As Carol's Caregiver, I got to spend a lot of time with her and come to love her dearly. Here's a pic I took of Carol a few years ago. She loved her stuffed animal friends. She's holding her beloved fox in this picture. She always dotted on her stuffed animal friends and had quite a menagerie.
