He was always smiling, cheerful, positive force in this world, despite some hard situations. Strong. A bit stubborn too. A joy to have known

I just learned of Harry James' passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Harry was my youth soccer coach from the late 70s to the mid 80s. Even though that was 40 years ago I still hold a special place in my heart for this great man.

I am missing you so much my friend. You have been my emotional support system for over 40 years. Don´t think I have the energy to break someone else in so Heaven may not be as relaxing as you may have thought. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with mine. We have shared some fun adventures. May you rest in peace and I know there was a celebration when Nathan was there waiting for you. Your family down here are deeply hurting and I know you will be with them to comfort them. Walk in beauty my friend

Dear Harry & Family- I am so sorry that you are gone & my condolences to your family.
I was not able to attend your funeral due to Illness and to make things really sad for me- you died on my birthday. Now that day is known as - The Day The Music Died- reference to Feb 3, 1959.
Harry- I first met you at Job Service, 1981. You were always so kind and helpful. I remember you had your Dine name on your business card and I thought that was so cool!
With you charisma and big smile- you were always able to bring a diverse crowd together. Your pow- wows were fun and I loved how you promoted your culture in a positive light for people to learn about Dine values.
I remember Christel and Andrew, Nathan and Jayden but I did not meet the others. I was delighted to hear you had a great- grandson, Mateo.
I hope your grand kids have all the documentation of all your experiences from boarding school to when you met Prestine to your travels abroad. Each time we lose an Elder, we lose some history.
Harry- I hope your journey goes well. I guess you will be seeing your mum and Nathan.
Vaya Con Dios- until we meet again, my friend. Thank you for your friendship and for your laughter.

Harry was an amazing one-of-a-kind fellow -- a community leader, a talented musician and a man with an engaging smile that reflected the beauty and love he shared with everyone. Rock solid, dependable and always helpful and welcoming, I feel honored to have known him and grateful for all he contributed to the concerts, festivals and projects organized by the Utah Arts Council's Folk Arts Program. I'm sure his family knows how much everyone loved Harry and will miss him.

I met Harry shortly after he returned from his LDS Mission where he was a companion to my cousin, Bill Argyle. They continued to teach some of the Navajos in our area about the church and had asked me to help with the young children. Later on, I found out he was my soon to be husband, Larry Sanford’s, Navajo brother and the seed was already planted of what an incredible, unselfish, amazing individual he truly was!
I have loved and admired him ever since. He leaves a huge hole which no one else can truly fill!

We talked that last call for a couple hours and could have talked longer. You were so looking forward to the code talkers monumental event. You will have touched many lives. See you soon

Harry came to live with the Howard and Mary Sanford family in 1958. Harry. Larry and myself, Lorna were all in the same grade together and graduated from Springville High in 1961. In a family of 8 siblings, we loved and adored Harry as if he were our own. Harry served a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and afterwards attended BYU. We have been so proud of Harry and his beautiful family. It was a shock to lose him and we will miss his happy positive attitude. Until we meet again. Lorna I've and family

Harry is an amazing man and friend. It wasn't noted what an amazing Soccer Coach he was and an influence to our Son and his teammates. This just adds to all the accolades we realize he was involved in. Thank you so much for sharing your time. Sending our condolence to Prestine, Crishel , Andrew and their families.

Remember Harry so well when he attended Springville HS. He was an outstanding young man and I feel so proud being selected as Mr and Miss Friendly along side Harry in 1960. Harry was a Junior and I was a Sophomore. So proud of all his accomplishments. My deepest condolences to his wife and family.
