Ernest Fortune Obituary
Born June 8, 1944 in Davie County, he was the son the late Beulah Fortune Vinson.
Educated in the public schools of Rowan County, he was a 1963 graduate of R.A. Clement High School. He was last employed at the Brian Center in housekeeping.
Mr. Fortune was a former member of Erwin Temple CME Church.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Luckey; brother, James Vinson; and sisters, Shirley Gaines and Diane Kerns.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Ernestine Luckey of Salisbury and Chris Luckey of Texas; siblings, Jerry Vinson (Wanda) of Salisbury, Burine Vinson Pate of Lexington, Frederick Vinson of Salisbury, Douglas Vinson (Jackie) of Statesville; brother-in-law, Larry Gaines; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Arrangements: Services will be Friday, May 3, 2024 in the A.R. Kelsey Memorial Chapel, Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. with Visitation at 1:30pm and Funeral at 2:00pm. Interment following services in Oakdale Cemetery.
