Colleen Ray Obituary

Colleen Ray

July 18, 1961 - October 15, 2023

Sacramento, California - Colleen Mains Ray, of Sacramento CA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, October 15th 2023, after a long battle with heart failure caused from radiation at 20 years old.

Colleen was born on July 18th 1961 to Jim & Maureen Mains in Sacramento CA. After Colleen graduated from Foothill High School she attended American River College. She was one of the first licensed female Electric contractors in the State of CA.

She started her career at the family business, J. Mains Electric becoming the CFO and worked in Real Estate and as a Director, Business Development at Royal Electric for over 11 years.

In 2008, Colleen met Tim Ray and married him April 20th, 2012 in Fiji. She was a true animal lover and cared for her pets Roxie, Zoey and Jezebel.

Colleen was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions. She was an avid golfer and softball player, loved music and was a notorious card shark.

Colleen was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. Her "wink" was paralyzing!

Colleen was predeceased by her parents by her mother Maureen Mains and father Jim Mains and his wife Joan and best canine companion Lexi. She is survived by her husband Tim Ray, his daughters Megan Appelblom (Paul), Sefora Janel Ray and grandchildren Lyla, Demi, and Caspian ; her siblings and their spouses: Vickie Meuth (Paul), Mike Mains (Karen), Greg Mains (Amanda) Carol Davis (Scott) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a beautiful positive fun and lovely person that will be missed by many.

A celebration of life will be held to honor Colleen's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sacramento SPCA, an organization Colleen felt strongly about.
