Michael Meier Obituary

Michael "Mike" Meier, one of the finest men to come out of Rock Creek Township, Indiana passed on to the next great adventure on May 28th, 2024, from his home in Sodus, Michigan.

Mike's loved ones fondly look back on his seventy-six earthly years marked by his authentic kindness, quickness to laugh, playfulness, eagerness to lend a helping hand, and love for his family. Mike had a gift for fixing anything from naval aircraft to small engines to broken toys. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed traveling and his curious nature inspired him to travel all over North America. He would gladly discuss religion, money, and especially politics with anyone daring enough to engage in such conversations.

Mike is deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Belinda (nee Nelson), his adoring daughters, Cassie (Kyle) Dworchak and Trina (Brian) Unverzagt, and his beloved grandchildren: Tyler, Dylan, Nolan, Gavin, and Abigail. Mike also leaves behind four brothers: Ron (Diana) Meier, Bob (Dalpha) Meier, Dave (Jacqueline) Meier, and Jim Meier along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.

A gathering in Mike's honor will be held on July 13, 2024, with details to follow. In the meantime, please honor his life by living well. Go fishing, enjoy ice cream, plant a tree, make someone laugh, play with your kids and grandkids, relax on the porch; and if your dad is still around, give him a call.
