Dollie Morey Obituary

Lifelong Alaska and Kenai resident, Mrs. Dollie Katherine Morey, 76, died Sunday, May 8th, 2022, in Soldotna, Alaska.

Memorial Potluck will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at The American Legion Post #20 in Old Town Kenai – 902 Cook Ave. David Segura will be officiating. A Potluck will follow services.

Dollie was born July 18, 1945, in Unalakleet, Alaska. She graduated from Seldovia High School in 1964 and furthered her education by studying liberal arts at University of Alaska Fairbanks and Pacific University. She also served in The U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1965 at Bainbridge, Maryland. She had lived in Alaska her whole life living Unalakleet, Seward, Seldovia, Anchorage and Kenai. Dollie worked as a clerk at Standard Oil of California along with her being secretary for Atlantic Richfield. She loved the arts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Morey, parents, Archie and Rose Wheeler, stepbrother, Myron Wheeler, stepdaughters, Dana and Rosie Morey.

She is survived by her sons, Jarrod Minkler of Kenai, and Archie Minkler of Kenai; daughter, Chrystal R. Wright of Kenai; brother, George Leo Wheeler of Kenai and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
