Barbara Anderson Obituary

My lovely wife, Barbara Cary Anderson, died at home in Kenai on October 5th, after a long battle with cancer. Barb was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 11, 1953 and moved to Alaska in January of 1988 to marry her future husband, Henry Anderson.

Barb worked for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District for 17 years before retiring to enjoy her flower gardens, hiking and kayaking around the peninsula, and camping throughout the state. She was a noted musician with a beautiful voice and loved playing her piano, guitars, and ukulele.

Barb is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Henry; sisters, Marge, Kathy, and Sue as well as her brothers, Charles and John.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul.

Henry encourages you to celebrate Barb's life by making a donation to the local food bank.

Henry, I've often reminisced having you and Barb in our lives North of Kenai. Such a constant pair of North Stars you were to our family. With X-country skiing, lore of masks and music, games at the Kenai Boys and Girls Club, riding on the float for the parade and so much more. Deepest sympathy for this loss.

Henry, I am so saddened to learn of Barb´s passing. We worked together at KCHS and I enjoyed her music at Veronica´s. My heartfelt condolences.

May you be comforted in your grief by those who knew and loved Barb. She was indeed a lovely person, and I enjoyed the times I got to hear her play.
