Richard Martinez Obituary
"Big Rick" Martinez, 65, of Watsonville CA.
Rick passed away on October 26, 2023 in the comforting arms of his daughter.
Rick was a proud father of his three children Geneve, Ricky, and Alex Martinez.
He treasured every moment in his role as a grandfather to his grandchildren Lexi, Aiyana, and Ezra. He showered them with love and always went out of his way to do what he could for them.
Rick was an easy going man and at times was a man of very few words. And other times his sense of humor brought out the best in him; he would bring out the funniest jokes that would have you both cracking up in tears. His laugh was contagious. He enjoyed watching Western Movies, playing scratchers, and the lottery in hopes to score BIG! He would always come home excited to tell us of his winnings and his plan to try again. He never got to hit BIG but was lucky many times and always shared his winnings with us no matter how small. He enjoyed listening to oldies and taking walks in the park with his Grandson Ezra by his side.
Rick as a father and grandfather was the one person we could count on for anything we needed. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family regardless of his circumstances. Even as a friend he made you feel safe and gave you assurance he was there for you if you ever needed him.
Although our family is deeply saddened with his departure from our world, it gives us great comfort knowing he has been reunited with his love,best friend, and wife Jennie Gervasio Martinez; as well as his son Alex Martinez. Who he missed dearly.
Rick leaves behind his legacy of strength and perseverance in us all!
Our home will no longer be the same without him. He is deeply missed, loved beyond measure, and will always be remembered.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday November 18, 2023 at Ave Maria Chapel from 5:00PM-9:00PM. Services will begin at 7:00PM.
