Daniel H Murphy, age 91, of Schererville, IN passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday December 17th. Son of William H and Elizabeth Murphy. Dan graduated from Bishop Noll in 1952. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, husband, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Judy and children: Moira (Joe) Lebryk, Danelle (Doug) Lorman, Mike (Donna) Murphy and LeighAne (Kent) Kahl; grandchildren: Jamie (Matt) Stauffer, Jessica (Mile) Jurkovic, Rylan (Kelli) Murphy, Shaine (Alexa) Murphy, Weston (Emily) Murphy, Shaylyn Murphy, Jenn (Andrew) Johnson and Eric Lebryk; great grandchildren: Hayden, Liam, Ava (Stauffer); Bella, Kaija, Ila (Jurkovic); Lucy, Luke, Liam (Murphy); Adele (Murphy); Caleb, Isaac, Drew (Johnson); siblings: James, Bob, and Shawn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Elizabeth Murphy; and siblings: Diane Itzack, Kathleen Kelly and Laura Williams
Dan loved to golf and watch his favorite sports on TV. He enjoyed classic cars as well as keeping up with the latest models. Dan was a Korean War veteran in the Army and enjoyed his honor flight to the war memorials in Washington DC. Dan was active in the Hammond Exchange Club and served as President among other roles.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday January 10, 2025 from 2-6 PM at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN. A visitation and Mass following will be held on Saturday January 11th with visitation starting at 9 am followed by funeral mass at 10 am at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer IN 46312
