Sean Gerne Obituary
Ridgewood - Sean M. Gerne, 54, of Ridgewood, entered into eternal rest on July 30, 2021. Beloved son of Claire M. (Riley), and the late Robert K. Gerne, who predeceased him in 2016. Loving brother of Claire M. (and Dr. James) Valente of Middletown, RI; Anne M. (and the late Christopher in 2001) Wodenshek; Katharine Gerne of Cambridge, MA; Christopher R (wife Alexandra) Gerne of Westfield, NJ, and the late Robert Gerne II, who predeceased him in 2017. Also survived by his Foster Brother Sean Dynes, and his wife Terry. Adoring uncle to Andrew Valente; Kaitlyn (and Steve) Hughes; Kevin Valente; Mariko Valente; Rosie Valente; Riley Gerne; Morgan (and Ricky) Mahoney; Michael Gerne; Jack Gerne; Sarah (and Scott) Marqueling; Haley Wodenshek; Mollie Wodenshek; William Wodenshek; Zachary Wodenshek; Jack Cannon; Luke Gerne; William Gerne; and Kieran Gerne. Great uncle to Logan and Connor Hughes, Samuel and Elijah Sean Marqueling, and also survived by beloved friend and sister-in-law Patricia Wodenshek. Sean also leaves behind his beloved four legged friend, Trixie. A graduate of St. Peter's College, Jersey City, and the Culinary Institute of America in NY, he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church in Ridgewood. Sean was a very popular fixture working at the Village Green in Ridgewood for many years. Visiting will be Thursday 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood. All those coming to the visitation are REQUESTED TO WEAR MASKS. Funeral Mass will be Friday, 10:00 AM at Mt. Carmel. Cremation private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org), 200 Vesey St., 28th Floor, NY NY 10281.
