Patricia Keenan Obituary

Patricia (Pat) Ann Keenan was born in Dallas, TX on July 6, 1937 to Ollie and Thelma Staggs. She graduated from the University of Maryland in 1959. She then worked briefly in New York City before marrying Allison Urban Keenan on August 9, 1963. They moved to the New Orleans area in 1966 and celebrated 43 years of marriage until her husband's death on March 3, 2007. Pat was active at First Baptist Church of New Orleans, Christian Women's Club, local prison chaplain ministries and the Salvation Army. Her most important legacy is an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and the desire to share His hope and love with others. Friends and family best describe her as a loving, humble servant of the Lord whose light shines brightly. Pat passed away on December 27, 2023 and will be greatly missed by her daughters, Kimberly Keenan DiRico (Jay) and Allyson Lee Keenan, and her special son, Michael Robert Keenan. She leaved three grandchildren, Taylor Donze, Brennan Donze, and Austin Donze who will cherish their memories of time with her. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at First Baptist Church of New Orleans beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Pat's desire was that acts of kindness be done to show God's love to another.

What a lovely person! She was always filled with strength & humility & joy! I reflect on her grace toward me when I as a new mom in 1999 began facilitating the Bible study at church. She, Ms.Brenda & Ms. Virginia were such a gift to me from the Lord to be an example of a godly mother. She was always pleasant, never put off by my scatter-brained ways. She was always on the ready with encouraging words and the kindest disposition. First class lady, right here!! Going to miss seeing my friend in church every week, but I will again in heaven...what a day of rejoicing that will be!
