Doris Landry Obituary

On October 15, 2024, Doris "Jean" Landry was lovingly embraced by Almighty God and welcomed into her eternal home. Born on November 3, 1948, in Shelby, Mississippi, Doris was the sixth of ten children of the late Bossie Byous Sr. and Irene Singleton Byous. In her final days, she was comforted by the spiritual presence of her loved ones who had gone before her. Doris Jean touched the hearts of everyone who knew her, leaving behind a profound legacy of love through her children, Glynn Landry Jr., Michelle Landry Adams, and Nakeisha Landry Pierre, along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends. Her voice, her laughter, and her unshakable strength will be cherished forever. Family, friends, Walter L. Cohen alumni, and former colleagues from Halter Marine and Chalmette Medical Center are warmly invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service to honor and celebrate the life of Doris Jean, Saturday, October 26, 2024 for 10:00 a.m. at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 8321 Burthe Street, New Orleans, LA 70118.
