Dolores Smith Obituary

Dolores T. Smith departed this life on January 11, 2024 at the age of 91 years. She was the wife of the late Edward Smith and the daughter of the late Leola Wheeler and Emile Triche. Dolores was the Mother of August Bertrand III (Yolonda), Edward C. Smith (Sharon) and the late Debra A. Bertrand. She was the sister of the late Helen Brown, Gustavia Singleton, Emelda Brousseau, Richard Perry, Edward Triche and Lawrence Triche. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Stacey Bertrand, Tiffany Rochon, August Bertrand IV, Essence Martin, Christopher Bertrand, Alexandra Bertrand, Eryn Smith, Breonna Smith, Ean and Emoni Smith. 3 great grandchildren, Nalani and Nina Rochon and Savannah Martin, one sister in law, Sharon Triche, one god-child, Amanda Phillips and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dolores graduated from McDonald 35 High School and continued her studies at Straight Business School. She was employed at Adler's Jewelry Store for a number of years and also worked at Town and Country Store on St. Charles Avenue. In her later years, until her retirement Dolores worked as a domestic caretaker. Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Vibe World Sports Agency and My Vibe Headphones, Pastors and members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Church are invited to attend a funeral service of Christian burial at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 1823 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70113 on January 20, 2024. Viewing time from 9:00 am until 10:00 am and Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will be private. Arrangements by D.W.
