Barry Green Obituary

Barry Joseph Green, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was the youngest son of George and Margaret Green and native of New Orleans, LA. He attended St. Peter Claver Catholic school and John McDonogh Senior High. His work included horse racing staff, offshore cook, and hospitality as a waiter/bartender. Barry is survived by siblings, Denard and Mark (Yvonne) Green and Catina Peoples (William) all residing in New Orleans; former wife, Trudy (Tina) Johnson; and stepsons, Eric, Otis, and David. Also, Ilza Nunez, and stepdaughter, Phamela; nieces, Tanesha, Jade and Denise; nephews, Christopher and William II; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many loyal friends. He's preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret; nephew, Donovan and (SIL) Linda. Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 20, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Philip St., NOLA with Rev Emmanuel Mulenga, OMI officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Cecelia, LA on a later date.
