Scott Sommer Obituary

Scott Edward Sommer "K'inlowoos" was born Jan. 7, 1982, at Tanana Hospital to Hugh Bifelt and Connie Sommer. From the moment they laid eyes on him they knew he was a very special, dear son. He was always a joy to be around. He had a great sense of humor and made everyone smile. He was loved by everyone, especially his mother Connie. He was her sunshine. Growing up he made so many good friends with his easy-going nature.

Scott's first job was a as part-time paper boy thanks to his dad, Darrell, for getting the route done and getting paid 25 cents for gas. He then went on to work at Hog River, Laborers Union and Doyon Drilling. He has good at all his jobs; he was a very hard worker. At each job he made lifelong friends. We're proud of all his accomplishments.

Scott is survived by his children, Zoe Sommer, Scotty Cash Sommer, Sophia Sommer (and their mother, Sonja Kokrine) and Natasha Ambrose; father, Hugh (Janet) Bifelt; mother, Connie (Bum) Sommer; siblings, Leona Starr, Colette Paul, Shavonn Greenway, Kimberly Greenway, Mariah Moses-Bergman, Angel Mayo, Keith Bifelt and Payton Bifelt; uncles, Chris (Albertha) Sommer, Curtis (Doris) Sommer, Rudy Sommer, Coleman Sommer, Fred (Audrey) Bifelt, and Craig (Felecia) Bifelt; aunts, Great-aunt Bernice Aragon, Marie (Mike) Andon, Judy (George) Jensen, Betty (Fred) Olin, Karen (Hugh) Kriska, Isabelle Kayotuk, Charlotte Bifelt and Len Jensen, Margaret Williams and Wilmer Beetus, Darlene Bifelt, Vivian Bifelt, Helena (Rick) Campbell, and Laberta Bifelt and Allen Ticket. Scott is survived by his godparents Edith Bifelt, Robert Albert and the late Fred Bifelt. Scott is also survived by about 500 cousins who loved him dearly.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Charlotte Bergman, Henry and Maudrey Sommer, and Cue and Madeline Bifelt; brother, Wilfred Bifelt; uncles, Morris Thompson, Glen Butler, Great-uncle Walter John, Edgar Bifelt, Archie Bifelt, and Ralph Bifelt, twin bother of Coleman; and aunts, Donna Brooks, Joann Sam, Lucille Sommer, Delores Bifelt and Janelle Sommer.

We are so thankful for the outpouring of love and support from everyone to our families. A celebration of life was held on Sunday, May 1, 2022, Chief David Salmon Tribal Hall. Services and burial followed on Monday, May 2, in Tanana, Alaska.
