Carmine Bracco Obituary

BRACCO, Jr. - Carmine went home on April 24, at the age of 83. Through his lifetime, "Junior" repeatedly cheated death but bounced back from every ailment stronger than before. His final battle with cancer showed his unwavering courage and character of facing life challenges with a smile. Born August 1, 1938,

Carmine was the the youngest of five children born to the late Sarah (Brennan) and FDNY Dep Chief Carmine Bracco Sr. He attended St. Francis Prep and Fordham University, where he received his B.A. in Accounting in 1960. The mathematically gifted Carmine spent 30+ years as a banking executive at the world's top banks. His community service included Babylon Beautification Society, Sons of Italy, and Little Flower Children's Services. In 2005, Carmine married Helen DeMarinis surrounded by their family and friends. Carmine's heart would grow bigger from that day on and he and Helen would make a wonderful life together, with ten grandchildren to love and spoil. Carmine's unwavering love and concern for his family will be his legacy. Incapable of truly relaxing, Carmine worried constantly about his "girls" and called them daily up until the very end. Carmine is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marie Kokolis, cousin/best friend Bart Spota and longtime sidekick, Jack O'Brien. We envision nothing short of a loving reunion when he arrives home in heaven. Carmine leaves behind his loving wife, Helen Bracco; daughters Beth Bracco and Caroline Frostrom (Gregg); siblings Vincent Bracco, Matthew and Nancy Bracco and Patricia Ammirati; stepchildren Tony DeMarinis (Jenn), Theresa Nicol (Mark); and grandchildren Andrew, Julia, Ella, Rebecca, Kathleen, Matthew, Amy, Maggie, Drew and Addison. Visitation with be at OB Davis Funeral Home in Miller Place, on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm. Mass at 9am on Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Mark's RCC, Shoreham, NY. Burial will immediately follow Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY.
