Yolanda Kennedy Obituary

On Sunday, August 29, 2021, our beloved Yolanda Pernell Kennedy transitioned from this life into eternal rest.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on March 11, 1969, she was a daughter of the late Clifford Lee Andrews and Annie L. Snipe. Yolanda attended Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science where she later graduated. In 1990, she married the love of her life, Bernard Joseph Kennedy, and together raised their two sons, Matthew and Kendall Kennedy. Once her boys were grown, she went to work in real estate. After several years, Yolanda became self-employed as a financial advisor. Her business, Emom Network, was designed to teach and assist women entrepreneurs with financial funding for their businesses. Yolanda promoted awareness, confidence, and positivity in all her passions.

Yolanda always spoke of the goodness and power of the Lord. Her life was committed to God, her family, and others. She flowed with simplistic wisdom, penetrating candor, was quick-witted, and kind-hearted. Her grandchildren were her life. She will always be remembered as a devoted, loving mother, and a special grand-mom, as well as a dear friend to many.

Yolanda leaves to celebrate her life and legacy, her loving husband, Bernard Joseph "Joe" Kennedy; sons, Matthew Kennedy and Kendall Kennedy (Katie); grandchildren, Naomi Kennedy, Niya Kennedy, and Nolan Kennedy; siblings, Coretha "Cocoa" Sneed and Reggie Rinehart (Kim); aunts and uncles, Emanuel Lambert (Martina), Bernard Lambert, and Patricia Quencello Davis; parents-in-law, Delores and Eugene Kennedy; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11:30 am on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Townsend Church, 4519 Dupont Parkway, Townsend, DE where a funeral service will begin at 11:30. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in Old Drawyers Cemetery, 2839 DuPont Highway, Middletown, DE.
