Timothy William "Tim" Abbott, 68, of Richmond, died Monday, April 7, 2025, at Aspire Senior Living in Oak Grove.
Tim was born on November 19, 1956, in Kansas City, the son of Kenneth E. and Nessie (Brock) Abbott. He was united in marriage to Debra Louise "Debbie" Kendrick of Excelsior Springs on July 12, 1986; she preceded him in death on November 28, 2015.
Survivors include: Son, Alan (Jennifer) Mullikin of Cameron; daughter, Jessica (Randy Jr.) Gardner of Excelsior Springs, biological daughter, Melanie Edens of Raytown; six grandchildren: Haley, Tristian, Kendrick, Slade, Parker and Finnegan; four great-grandchildren: Maison, Ember, Evelyn and Vhada; brother, Kenneth Abbott of Lexington; and sister, Nancy (Jim) Edens of Richmond.
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Tim was raised and educated in the Richmond area, graduating with the Richmond High School Class of 1975. He went on to attend Central Missouri University in Warrensburg. Tim worked as a painter; a trade he took great pride in throughout his life. He had a deep love for music-whether it was playing his guitar or trumpet, listening to his favorite songs, or enjoying a good night of karaoke. A devoted grandfather and family man, Tim cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. He was also an avid sports fan and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his grandchildren at their games. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Farris Theatre. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens. Please remember to share your memories of Tim with the family by www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
