Shirley King Obituary

Shirley Marie King was born in Chicago, IL on June 8, 1965. She confessed Christ at an early age and departed this life June 5, 2025. She was a loving mother and grandmother, whose infectious spirit brought joy to everyone around her.
Shirley was a 1983 graduate of Theodore High School where she was crowned Miss THS and Class Favorite. Her love for music and melodious voice afforded her the opportunity to sing with Theodore High School's Honor Choir "The Madrigal" and the lead role as Dorothy in "The Wiz". Above all, she loved singing with her family's music ministry, "Anointed".
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents George E. and Ida King Sr.; maternal grandparents, Preston and Susie Williams; father, George E. King, Jr.; brother, George E. King III; niece, Jacqueline "JJ" King; and nephew, Corchiese Perrion Osborne.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted mother, Doris Williams (Lamar Douglas); a devoted stepfather, Charles Lee; Three sons: Edwin (Shannon) Nelson, Grand Bay, AL, James King, Mobile, AL, and Cedric (Brittany) King of Atlanta, GA; five sisters: Cynthia (Daniel Smalls) Williams and Ashley Douglas both of Theodore, AL; Jacqueline King, Michelle King, and Jeri (Barnard) Jones Sr all of Mobile, AL; two brothers: Geordyn and Evan King both of Chicago, IL; one uncle: James L. King of Port Allen, LA; five aunts: Clara (Sylvester) Wilcher and Christine Wilcher both of Chicago. IL, Pauline (Samuel) Duncan, Fowl River, AL, Vera Brown, Clinton MD, and Priscilla (Sylvester) Cheatham, Theodore, AL. Her memories will also live on with eighteen grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
